Link
TL;DR
A two-player asymmetric co-op potion shop. One player runs the counter, the other brews and enchants, and neither can finish an order alone. Communication is the core mechanic: follow the instructions to the letter, and don't drop the flask.
My Contributions
- Cut the game's trailer in UE5 Sequencer (link above).
- Built the burning-text effect used in the UI, where text appears as if it's being burned into the page.
- Designed and wrote the in-world posters and player guides: the Alchemists' Council recipe guide, the Guild advisory warning shoppers about cows with wands, and the how-to-play posters for both roles.
- Gave design feedback in the team's design meetings on the two-role loop.
Design Notes
- Asymmetry by information: each role sees what the other one needs, so talking isn't optional, it's the loop.
- Cost of failure is physical: drop the flask and the potion starts from scratch, which turns every hand-off into a small moment of tension.
- References: Keep Talking and Nobody Explodes for the information split; Overcooked for the shop-under-pressure frame.
Results & Learnings
- Shipped as a playable LAN prototype on itch.io with a twelve-person, multinational team.
